Béatrice Vaugrante

Béatrice Vaugrante has been Executive Director of Oxfam-Québec since February 2023. Passionate about social justice, throughout her career she has been committed to the defence of human rights, particularly those of women, indigenous peoples, refugees and migrants, and to economic and climate inequalities.
From 2018 to 2022, she was Global Director of Movement Building, and Director of Global Strategy at Amnesty International's International Secretariat. She significantly increased the organisational effectiveness and governance of Amnesty's 70 national entities, contributing to greater human rights impact based on clear strategic objectives, and greater resilience of the movement operating in shrinking civic spaces.
From 2006 to 2017, she was Executive Director of Amnesty International Canada francophone. Her achievements include raising awareness and changing policies on the rights of indigenous peoples and women, engaging youth in human rights, defending economic and social rights, and increasing public awareness.
In 2016, Béatrice Vaugrante received an award from the Quebec Human Rights Commission, in recognition of the inspiring and exceptional nature of her commitment. Prior to 2006, she held different executive positions in the private sector in Canada & Europe. She holds an MBA from HEC Paris. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Humanitarian Coalition.
