Danielle Adams is Senior Advocacy Advisor for Oxfam America and manages the Sisters on the Planet Ambassador program.
Danielle is a former elected Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor from Durham, North Carolina. She served for 12 years, completing her final term in 2020 and received numerous awards throughout her years of service, including the Outstanding District Supervisor of the Year, “Woman of the Year: Emerging Leader” award from Spectacular Magazine, and the Gantt-Watt Emerging Leader and the YEO Network Leadership awards.
She was awarded fellowships with the Young Climate Leaders Network and with Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation as an inaugural All 4 NC fellowship awardee, with which she founded the North Carolina Hemp Equity Network, an organization committed to pursuing equity and justice for women farmers and farmers of color, in the hemp and cannabis agricultural sector.
She has served as a diversity, equity, and inclusion consultant for SJ Adams Consulting specializing in strategy and design of programs and trainings in environmental and social justice sectors, and an ambassador to Oxfam America’s Sisters on the Planet program. Danielle currently serves on the Advisory Board of Equity Agenda and the Leadership Council of Elected Officials to Protect America
