Honorable Jacquelyne K. Weatherspoon

CEO/Founder, Has retired her not-for-profit organization; Decisions in Democracy International after 25 years of service to women, girls and young people seeking to run for office. Former State Representative, New Hampshire. Has spent the last three months supporting on daily the Harris Walz Campaign for the United States as an honorary member of her "Women at the Table" and Women for Harris. Jackie also served as the Staging Location Director during the Get Out the Vote phase of the campaign.
The Honorable (Jackie) Jacquelyne K. Weatherspoon served six years in the New Hampshire House of Representatives serving on the Election Law Committee and General Court of New Hampshire. Her first piece of legislation passed, The UN CEDAW Resolution, Convention to Eliminate All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. As a Seconded person with Diplomatic Status at the US State Department responsible for the elections in 1/3 of the country in Bosnia-Herzegovina for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Jackie was tasked with implementing the last phases of the Dayton Agreement. Under her present political appointment by US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Jackie serves on the US Civil Rights Commission, State Advisory Committee. Jackie is the “BlackWomenforBidenNH” State Liaison, tasked with insuring Black women, women of color, Latinx, LGBTQ, and youth vote in the upcoming November elections. Jackie has stepped down as the Co-Chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party African American Caucus, and The Rules Committee having successfully working with the Rules Committed to establish the first fully recognized Black Caucus of the state.. Jackie recently stepped down from the NH Episcopal Church Commission on Reconciliation.
At the United Nations under the NGO Commission on the Status of Women Jackie has served on the Executive Committee and recently honored to co-convene and co-found Women and Girls of African Descent Caucus with UN Women Consultative Status, in Recognition of the 400th Anniversary of the Trans- Atlantic Slave Trade, with its chief goal to convene the next generation of women and girl leaders throughout the diaspora with decision making authority to implement the SDG’s, UN, Sustainable Development Goals, under “Next Generation”. Jackie served eight years as Technical Advisor and Negotiator under Club de Madrid, organization of former Heads of State, “Women Peace and Security In the Greater Horn of Africa”, working and training women leaders to implement their National Action Plans, women of Uganda, Sudan, Djibouti South Sudan, Somalia and Somaliland. Jackie was one of those alerting the President Obama Administration regarding the perils of Yemen. As an electoral expert Jackie has served as UNDP/UNIFEM and UN Women Senior International Election Officer and Gender Specialist in the Parliamentary, Presidential and Local Council Elections in Tanzania, Dar Salaam, Nigeria and Malawi. Jackie has served on the United Nations Secretariat Roster of Electoral Experts for the UN and UN Women. Jackie has served on three Delegations with First Lady Hillary Clinton under the US State Department, “Northern Initiative” in Estonia, Lithuania and Iceland. Jackie is the founder and CEO of Decisions in Democracy International. The DDI gives training for people seeking to run for public office.
Since 1995, Weatherspoon is a Member-at-Large and the Northern New England Coordinator for US Women Connect, a White House Initiative that tracks the progress of Women and Girls World Conference on Women, 1995. It is an every five year initiative that documents the progress of women and girls which is in accord with the National Platform for Action Beijing protocols.
Jackie served from 2007 until June 2024th on the roster of Negotiators with the Harvard Mediation Program, in Cambridge, Ma. Jackie holds a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Jackie served as Harvard Fellow at the Harvard AIDS Institute, Harvard School of Public Health and is a graduate of SUNY Brockport. Jackie is an Associate Member of the American Bar Association in the Dispute Resolution Section. Jackie volunteered at Black Girls Code, attempting to shrink the digital divide of girls in communities of color and serve as faculty advisor for the Democratic Club at Phillips Exeter Academy. Jackie is the co-author of “Influential, Phenomenal Women of New Hampshire”.
Jackie is married to Russell D. Weatherspoon, Director of Phillips Exeter Academy Summer School and Faculty Member in the Religion Department. They have four adult children and a quiver of grandchildren. Russell and Jackie will be living in Harlem, NYC beginning this winter and is excited do advocacy work with Oxfam and the New York Delegation.
