Theresa Kennedy
Program Liaison
Theresa Kennedy is a proud alumna of the Alcorn State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Agricultural Economics. She pursued her passion for serving as she was named Deputy Director of Marketing for the City of Jackson. Through being able to connect with others and her love for Jackson, she worked tirelessly to build relationships with all the departments and those organizations connected to the city. She assisted with developing the marketing plan for the City of Jackson. Theresa started the Food Truck Friday at Smith Park in downtown Jackson in 2014.
Recently, Theresa was awarded the Faithful Service Award from the Alcorn State University National Alumni Association. Theresa served as the Director of the Women Business Center of Mississippi, an organization that assists women entrepreneurs and small business owners. She was honored to impact the lives of women across the state of Mississippi with starting and/or growing their businesses.
Theresa also started fifty-five│twenty, LLC, a public relations, marketing and brand/business development agency, in 2012. Her clients include: small businesses, corporations and non profits. She is continuing to let her light shine and helping others do so through her communications skills, relationships and advocacy work. The company believes in creating solutions for clients that adds value to their business and impacts their brand. Her work has expanded with a client to include program management and lobbying. Theresa is excited for the opportunity to further advocate for better concerning social justice, gender equality and climate justice for all.
Theresa is very active in her community and serves in various capacities throughout. She is a life member of the Alcorn State University National Alumni Association, a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a member of the Catalyic Core within Women For Progress of Mississippi, Inc., and serves as Board member to The Bean Path and Dress for Success Metro Jackson. As a member of the Zoning Board for the City of Ridgeland and Madison County Watershed Committee, Theresa is committed to improving the lives of all.
