At Oxfam, part of our mission has always been to help poor families caught in harm’s way.
In crises, we provide water and sanitation, and access to food and other essentials—working with local partners but often guiding the response ourselves.
Now, as conflicts and climate change are overwhelming the international community’s ability to response, we are calling for a more local and sustainable approach: one that helps responsible national governments and organizations take the lead in emergencies.
