Fight to end world hunger: sign the petition

Last year, 757 million people faced chronic hunger—one out of every 11 people globally. Women and children are disproportionately affected, enduring the worst of this crisis. This stark reality highlights the deepening inequality in our world.
But world hunger is not an unsolvable problem. We produce more than enough food to feed everyone.

To prevent further suffering, we must act now by delivering essential food and aid to those in need, while also addressing the root causes of hunger.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive with equal access to nutritious food.

Sign your name to tell lawmakers that urgent action is needed to save lives. It’s time to invest in a more sustainable and secure food system for everyone.

Message to Members of Congress:

Hunger is a fundamental violation of human dignity, and it is a challenge that transcends borders and ideologies. We must do more to address the fact that 281.6 million people in 59 countries and territories across the world are experiencing extreme levels of food insecurity. That's enough people to fill Madison Square Garden in New York City more than 13,000 times over.

Oxfam, and a global community of supporters, are calling upon you to invest in a more sustainable and secure food system for everyone.

The U.S. must increase its support for sustainable and long-term solutions to food insecurity. This includes:

  • expanding funding for life-saving food aid
  • investing in agriculture and rural development
  • improving access to education and health services
  • and addressing the impacts of climate change on food systems.

Investing in a food-secure future would save lives by ensuring that everyone has access to adequate food. In a world without hunger, everyone can thrive, not just survive.

We urge you to invest in food security so no one has to experience hunger.
