Rooted in Hope: Growing a More Equal Future

With Trump’s return to the White House, the fight for equality and justice is entering one of its most critical moments. The progress we’ve fought for—progress for women, girls, and marginalized communities—is under threat. The stakes couldn’t be higher. Inequality is rising, and those in power are doubling down on policies that put the most vulnerable at risk. This is not the time to stand by. This is the time to rise up.

This International Women’s Day, we’re inviting YOU to seize your power and join the Oxfam Action Network for an Equal Future in this crucial fight for equality and justice. We are convening a powerful group of changemakers in Washington, DC, from March 10–12 for an in-person advocacy conference—and we need you to be there.

Join us as we unite with activists from across the country to stand against Trump 2.0 and his allies in Congress. Over two-and-a-half transformative days, you’ll gain the tools, skills, and connections needed to resist an agenda of inequality and division. And on March 12, we’ll take the fight directly to the halls of power. Together, we’ll meet with members of Congress to demand a future where everyone can thrive—not just the ultra-rich.

This is your chance to be part of something bigger—because the seeds of hope we plant today will grow into a movement that cannot be ignored. The fight for equality starts here, and it starts with you. Will you join us?

International Women’s Day Conference History

In 2008, Oxfam America launched the Sisters on the Planet® Ambassadors program to unite dynamic women leaders from diverse fields—business, politics, arts, and beyond—around a shared commitment to fighting inequality. These remarkable women harness their influence to advocate for policies that promote justice and equality, particularly for women and girls who face the greatest barriers. Rooted in the belief that women and girls should have power over every aspect of their lives and live free from violence, the network has worked tirelessly to demand an equitable world, addressing systemic poverty and injustice through bold and sustained advocacy.

Since 2009, the annual International Women’s Day Conference has been a flagship event for Sisters on the Planet, convening Ambassadors to leverage their collective power for impactful action. Now—in 2025—the Oxfam Action Network for an Equal Future is joining the Sisters on the Planet Ambassador Program in Washington, DC to magnify the power of our collective voices and stand united for a more equal future.
